What is the difference between Wood and Forest?

Woods: A grove of trees, and it is considered smaller than a forest.

Example:

We usually go for a walk in the woods every morning.

Forest: An extensive tract of land covered in trees and underbrush.

Example: It is hard to know the directions in the forest.
